Prerequisites

To pursue the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, candidates must meet certain educational and professional experience prerequisites as follows:

Education: A four-year degree (bachelor's degree) or the global equivalent. 

Project Management Experience: A minimum of three years (36 months) of non-overlapping professional project management experience. This experience must include a minimum of 4,500 hours leading and directing projects.

Project Management Education: 35 contact hours of formal education in project management.
